INTRODUCTION

On behalf of the ERF Programme Committee and the ERF Scientific Board, we invite you to the 17th edition of the European Robotics Forum, to be held from 23-27 March 2026 in Stavanger, Norway.

Prof. Eleni Kelasidi

Scientific Track Chair, NTNU, Norway

Prof. Jan Tommy Gravdahl

Co-chair, NTNU, Norway

Ass. Prof. Daniel Hagen

Co-Chair, UiA - University of Agder

The Scientific Track was first introduced at the ERF 2024 in Rimini, Italy. Thanks to its success, it is continued at the ERF 2026 in Stavanger.

The Scientific Track is composed of peer-reviewed papers, which will be published in the Springer Proceedings in Advanced Robotics (SPAR) series.

A total of 75 papers were submitted for consideration. Each submission underwent thorough evaluation, receiving at least two independent reviews from members of the scientific community. Based on these evaluations, 47 papers were, representing high-quality contributions to the field. The accepted papers are categorized into two subject areas:

  • Robotics: This category focuses on classical robotics topics, including mechatronics, kinematics, dynamics, safety, and many more. These papers emphasize foundational and applied advancements in traditional robotics domains.
  • AI for Robotics: This category centers on the integration of artificial intelligence into robotics, with topics such as machine learning, foundation models, computer vision, hybrid AI approaches, just to name a few. These contributions highlight innovative methods and technologies at the intersection of AI and robotics.

There is a Best Paper Award for each subject area. The winners will be awarded at the ERF Award Ceremony on 25 March 2026 and listed on this page.

Formats and locations

To foster the discussion between researcher and industry, the contributions of the Scientific Track are be presented in an “oral” or a “pitch and poster” format.

Oral presentations and poster pitches will all take place at the Forum Expo, in the meeting room Vindafjord. Oral presentations are a classical scientific talk of 20 minutes length including discussion. Poster pitches give a very brief introduction of seven minutes length, while the actual poster presentations are in the room called Forum Deli. Posters are discussed in the brake after the pitch session. Posters for the given day can be mounted from 8:30 and must be removed by the end of the day.
