TRADITION

It all started during ERF 2019 when the first edition of the “Roborun” took place and since then, the 5 km run has happened every year and has only changed name to become the Charity Run.

A local charity is selected by the local organising committee to raise funds for STEM-related projects for the children of the host country’s organisation. This year, Kidsa Koder has been chosen.

THE ROUTE

To give people who do not want to run a chance to participate as well, we have added an extra walking option to the standard run.

All the ‘runners’ will enjoy a beautiful track through the park of Stavanger. To allow a fluent run, volunteers will be posted along the way to encourage the participants and indicate the way.

Lær Kidsa Koding (Teach Kids Coding) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven movement that aims to inspire children and youth across Norway to explore, understand, and create with technology. Since its founding in 2013, Lær Kidsa Koding has supported hundreds of local coding clubs, schools, and teachers across the country.

Through community initiatives and local coding clubs, Lær Kidsa Koding provides opportunities for children to learn programming, problem-solving, and digital creativity in an inclusive and inspiring environment – for free. Lær Kidsa Koding also runs projects that employ and mentor teenagers as coding instructors, giving them valuable work experience, leadership skills, and a chance to inspire younger learners in their communities.
